My husband traveled to Japan and was amazed by the Orchid garden.  So he took hundred's of snapshots of the various plants and flowers and thus I had my reference for this painting.

I had heard of the poppies in California but had never seen the beauty of field after field of poppies.  They recently planted the Interstate here with Poppies for the honor of our VFW.  I loved the gracefullness of the flowers and had to catch the dance of the morning dew.

The first time I saw this plant was at our local zoo.  it was the size of a tree.  I could not get over the beauty of the light shining on the long trumpet that made it transparent.  The curly cue tendrils just danced in the wind.

Which made it seem to be moving to invisible music.

This is more a painting of the light hitting the flowers

and sending it through the trasparent petals.

The roses and fuschia's had just been picked and

in a glass of water on the table and  I tried to capture the moment.
